The GP Welfare Check Clinic is provided by Vets & Pets, in conjunction with
TKCC.
It is headed up by Karen Malt, BAR Rodentologist Health
Advisor, alongside the practice vet Amir Kashiv on a voluntary basis.
The clinic will be solely for
guinea pigs, where basic health checks will be carried out e.g. nail clipping,
ear/eye/skin/nether regions checks.
Any medical problems highlighted on the day outside the normal health check
(and those requiring POM's) will
be referred to Amir, the vet on the day.
Karen is well known for her work with GP skin and bladder conditions.
The Clinic will normally be held on a
Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm, as the demand dictates.
Although available to everyone, we have found that the clinic demand has
come mainly from the members of TKCC. Members
do not
get priority but they are normally the ones who request health checks and
therefore get the appointments. If you wish to be added to the list for the next
available clinic, please contact us including a contact telephone number.
The appointments list is here.
Vets and Pets are a low cost veterinary practice, and bearing this in mind, the
consult fee for this clinic will be:
£10 for the first GP and £3 for each and every other
GP you bring along to the same consultation.
(If a referral to the vet is required a further £7.50 vet consultation will be
added)
(Should your GP(s) require X-Rays, Medication
etc, there will be additional charges for these items)
